Youth
At an age when restlessness and the search for identity intensifies, high school and junior high students will find no better model for a satisfied heart than in a church of committed believers and a home where the Gospel is lived out day by day. At Living Grace we invite our students to attend Sunday worship services with their family. We believe when students worship with the greater church body they learn to appreciate that church is so much more than youth group alone. They experience the fellowship of believers and come to understand that they too are vital in the life and purpose of the church.
We offer a mid-week opportunity for students to gather with others their age for relevant teaching and to be challenged in the experience of their faith. In addition to the mid-week meetings we periodically schedule camps, events and service opportunities in order to blend teaching and fun in a way that produces students well equipped to worship the God who reigns. By authenticating and supplementing the principles that parents teach at home, we long to show our students a hope far greater than any this world can give.

*Upcoming Events -
Coram Deo - Saturday, February 11th, cost $10 plus money for dinner. Coram Deo is an all-day event in which we take the students out to a more remote location, away from all distractions, and give them several hours to spend alone with God and His Word. I give them a number of things they can do during that time such as: read portions of a book I provide them, read certain passages of Scripture, pray about specific things, spend some time in small group discussion, etc. The entire point of the day is to provide the opportunity for them to come before the face of God and allow the Holy Spirit to work in their heart and mind without the media distractions all around them. For this Coram Deo we will be traveling to Montana De Oro State Park which is just outside of Morro Bay.
For More details on the event and/or to sign up, please contact Billy Freels at billyf@livinggracebakersfield.com.
Voice of the Martyrs Conference - This is a free one-day conference in Oceanside that takes place on Saturday, March 24th. At this conference the students will hear from a number of men and women from different countries where there is intense persecution of Christians. This is a great event that truly encourages, challenges, and points us to prayer as we hear about how God is bringing glory to Himself through His people around the world.
